Counselling

fpa’s unplanned pregnancy counselling service
The most stressful issues for many of the women are:

Will people find out?
Where will I raise the money to pay for it?
How will I find the clinic when I get off the plane?
What excuse can I give my employer/school to explain my absence?
What will I say if someone sees me at the airport?
The counsellors, who work within the ethical framework of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, help and support women to cope with this stress. Their role is to facilitate the exploration of all options, including providing full information, and to support whatever decision the woman makes. This is the ethos of non-directive counselling and being pro-choice, and fpa is the only agency in Northern Ireland to provide such a service.
